why do i LOVE to procrastinate?

so with 11 days of total freedom left (aka SUMMER VACATION) i'm realizing that i have a whole lot of s$*@ to do... guhreeaaat. in the midst of my dump-filled den, i'm sniffing up dust balls and touching my "brand new manuals" (and when i say "brand new manuals" i mean worn teacher editions that are brand new to my fingertips since i'll be teaching a whole different curriculum this year!) for the upcoming school year. to tell you the truth, i probably won't get everything done that i wanna do. go figure. story of my life!

i am happy to report, however, that i have filed things in an organized fashion in my new filing cabinet. hurrah for being organized! --- for now.

on the other hand, i'm feeling a little nervous to go back since i didn't complete all the prepping i wanted to do during the summer :/ boooo me. i'll probably be freaking out AGAIN even though i'm more excited to start out this year with third grade.

of course, as i experience all this all-too-familiar tension, i pick up the "Next Door Savior" daily calendar that Ate donated to me when I started to teach and turned to August 6th (since today is, after all, August 6th):

"The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
the Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 27:1
thank you, Jesus.

in other wonderful news, sister-friend is getting ready to graduate!! woot-woot! which means family reunion and celebrating this joyous occasion. let's hear it for NURSE REGINA! despite the short visit, i'm looking forward to good family time. it's been awhile since the p-dale/seatown family clans have been able to be all together - as in all eight of us. i think the last time we were all together at the same time was my grad two years ago (already?!) so i'm happy that we'll be able to celebrate ate's graduation and reunite. yes yes. it's a good time. laughs and bonding all around, even if for a short while.

okay, back to the reality of it. no more denying IT. school IS coming. *sigh
